The Safety Inspector is responsible for overseeing all company and subcontracted work activities to ensure safety compliance and a secure work environment. This role involves identifying unsafe situations, conducting safety audits, investigating accidents, and supporting injured employees. The inspector also develops job safety analyses, maintains training records, performs risk assessments, and ensures compliance with environmental regulations.

  • Assist the Safety/Environmental Manager in day-to-day safety compliance administration.
  • Perform safety audits and maintain organized records in both soft and hard copies.
  • Investigate employee accidents and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.
  • Support injured employees in receiving appropriate occupational health assistance.
  • Develop job safety analyses (JSA's) for standard work processes.
  • Review and maintain personnel environmental/safety training requirements.
  • Perform risk assessments in the workplace, including shops and offices.
  • Conduct safety surveys to support personal protective equipment policies.
  • Inspect subcontractors performing work for the company to ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Report findings to the Safety/Environmental Manager and ensure compliance with protocols.
  • Active high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Current state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain required certifications and government CAC card.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Minimum of two years' experience in safety/environmental program management.
  • Familiarity with government contracting terminology and requirements.
  • Experience in safety/environmental regulations and accident investigation.
  • Skilled in hazardous waste management and military safety regulations.
  • Experience with environmental compliance assessments and program management.
  • Associate's degree in a safety-related field.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software, including Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written forms.
  • Ability to think clearly in emergency situations and lead others.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general construction activities.
