About The Position

Responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the requirements of the Safety standards are achieved.  The role is a highly visible, hands-on leader responsible for driving day-to-day safety performance across the organization. This role spends significant time in the field, actively observing work practices, identifying hazards, and partnering with employees and supervisors to correct unsafe conditions in real time. Leads by example, reinforcing safe behaviors while building trust and accountability at all levels.

Requirements

  • Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • High Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Very High Mathematical Skills - Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • High Reasoning Skills - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Inventory software , Manufacturing software
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or equivalent technical field and/or combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Knowledge and experience in OHSA and TOSHA Guidelines
  • Demonstration of leadership and strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Motivated team player with first-class people skills who enjoys creativity and gets the job done.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintain controls and documentation procedures.
  • Liaising with customers’ auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications.
  • Leads ISO Audits to drive success in our certifications in all areas and leads CAR to ensure completion.
  • Leads Risk Audits in the facility and leads CAR for findings to ensure completion.
  • Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources, all aspects of employee relations including, but not limited to, employee interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, complaints, scheduling, training and development, etc.
  • May directly supervise the EHS department to ensure the meeting of EHS Standards.
