About The Position

The Safety, Health, and Security Manager at OMSI is responsible for overseeing the organization's safety, health, and security programs across multiple locations. This role involves collaborating with senior leadership to implement best practices that ensure a safe environment, training staff on emergency procedures, and managing both in-house and contracted security personnel. The position requires a proactive approach to risk reduction and compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in security, safety, and/or emergency management.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Proven knowledge of OSHA compliance and ADA regulations.
• Strong communication skills, particularly in public speaking and presentations.
• Ability to manage six-figure annual budgets and employee workloads.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced knowledge of facilities-related and building systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in a non-English priority language.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of OMSI's Safety, Health, and Security Programs.
• Conduct accident investigations and supervise first aid efforts.
• Train employees in State and Federal-mandated safety programs.
• Lead and facilitate OMSI's Safety Committee and act as a liaison between staff and leadership.
• Manage OMSI's Environmental Emergency Response plan and ensure compliance with OSHA and DEQ regulations.
• Perform site inspections and submit recommendations for safety improvements.
• Schedule and coordinate safety and first-aid trainings for all staff.
• Oversee security operations at OMSI's Waterfront Ave Museum and provide recommendations for other locations.
• Maintain records to comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Manage and maintain the Safety & First Aid budget.
