Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of SHE standards (e.g Process Safety, Environmental compliance and Occupational Health and safety Management) and regulations
  • Experience with SHE auditing processes and methodologies and overall UL Audit programme
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements and how they apply to specific site operations
  • Specialist technical experience in Process Safety or Environmental or Industrial Hygiene is essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify potential risks and non-compliance issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise audit reports
  • Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate findings to senior management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with site teams and senior management
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in diverse environments
  • Strong commitment to ethical standards and integrity
  • Ability to hold people accountable
  • Healthy curiosity to get the bottom of issues
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple audits and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Degree qualified in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor) are highly desirable
  • Experience in SHE, Auditing, Engineering or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and agree the SHE audit plan
  • Lead comprehensive SHE audits at various company sites globally
  • Evaluate compliance with internal and external SHE standards and regulations
  • Identify areas of non-compliance and provide actionable recommendations for improvement
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management
  • Summarise themes from the individual audits to look for systemic gaps and present to senior leaders
  • Collaborate with site management to develop and implement corrective action plans
  • Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure continuous improvement
  • Stay updated on the latest internal and external SHE standards and regulations and best practices
  • Design and deploy an efficient and effective internal (Line of Defence 2) Audit programme which is continuously improved
