The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Safety Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by developing and implementing environmental, health and safety programs/practices aimed to mitigate hazards and ensure compliance within the Cordova site, additionally: Applying leadership through scientific principles and behavioral based systems to drive EHS risk reduction efforts and compliance activities Supporting site EHS initiatives through leadership or participation in EHS incident investigations, analyze and report data trends and identify improvement opportunities Identify opportunities to improve EHS and Regulatory performance and assist in developing strategies for future improvements Provide technical EHS support for new or modified products and processes Determine and implement training needs to support EHS initiatives

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
Three (3) years of combined EHS experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in a science or engineering discipline or related discipline from an accredited institution
Experience in safety and health program administration [e.g. Confined Space Entry, Emergency Response, Incident Investigation, and/or Risk Management]
Experience interacting with Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies
Proficiency with various corporate reporting/compliance and other software tools
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals

Responsibilities
