About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer to join our team in a full-time, on-site role. You will be working Monday through Thursday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST. The primary focus of this role is to ensure safety and environmental compliance within our facility, promote a culture of safety, and drive continuous improvement in safety practices.

  • Project management skills with a focus on timely delivery.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and OH DEP regulations.
  • Accident investigation experience.
  • Familiarity with job safety analysis processes.
  • Ability to lead and influence within a matrixed organization.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 1-3 years' experience in safety, environmental, or engineering roles.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and general database/web-based applications.

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and promote a SAFE First Culture.
  • Ensure facility compliance with safety and environmental programs, regulations, and company policy.
  • Perform job hazard analyses to identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review and update location standards, policies, and practices to align with company and regulatory requirements, in collaboration with the Safety Manager.
  • Train associates, supervisors, and employees on general safety, environmental awareness, and specific program requirements.
  • Maintain required records and prepare reports to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety and environmental inspections in the warehouse.
  • Organize and coordinate emergency response activities.
  • Conduct ergonomics assessments and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Organize and lead the safety committee.
  • Lead job safety analyses and hazard assessments.
  • Coordinate accident investigations and reporting.
  • Facilitate ISO and OHSAS compliance.
  • Promote a culture of zero incidents and value our human resources.
  • Complete monthly training on safety and environmental topics.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements.
