About The Position

In addition to normal operating engineer duties and responsibilities, the Safety Engineer will be responsible for development, implementation and enforcement of site safety practices per JPMC and JLL standards along with associated safety training. The Safety Engineer is expected to provide skilled leadership in support of the Chief Engineer for all safety related issues as well as incident investigations involving safety or safety program infractions. Maintain complete and meticulous records of safety inspections and safety program to ensure 100% compliance with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations along with JPMC standards, and JLL requirements. Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineers regarding planning and performance of maintenance activities.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Development, implementation and enforcement of site safety practices per JPMC and JLL standards
  • Associated safety training
  • Provide skilled leadership in support of the Chief Engineer for all safety related issues
  • Incident investigations involving safety or safety program infractions
  • Maintain complete and meticulous records of safety inspections and safety program to ensure 100% compliance with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations along with JPMC standards, and JLL requirements
  • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineers regarding planning and performance of maintenance activities
  • Provide direction and information regarding LOTO policy and practices, Emergency and Standard Operating Procedures, safety boundaries associated with ARC flash and other hazards associated with the different maintenance activities
  • Maintain complete inventory of Hazardous Materials and records for Hazardous Material Waste, MSDS, refrigerant and all government required programs
  • Ensure all PPE is properly maintained and remains in compliance with OSHA requirements and standards as well as engineering safety practices
  • Perform safety reviews of vendors and their safety programs while on site
  • Perform internal reviews of site engineering practices and equipment inspections
  • Coordinate vendors for calibration of safety equipment and replacement as needed to stay in compliance and to provide safe equipment for staff
  • Conduct safety meetings and lesson learned experiences that are shared throughout the portfolio
