As a Safety Engineer in Marietta, GA, you will apply your knowledge of current health and safety policies, manufacturing processes and regulations to protect employees from injury and reduce damage to property. In this role, you will interact with the employees performing the work, supervisors, managers, and senior leaders to evaluate and develop controls for occupational health risks. Specifically you will: Develop and implement safety programs to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions, using knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, psychology, and industrial health and safety laws. Examine plans and specifications for new machinery, tooling, fall protection and facility projects, to identify safety solutions and reduce risk to employees. Partner with assigned programs to inspect equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Lead ergonomic risk initiatives and incident investigations supporting assigned program areas. Provide support as needed for the facility ISO 14001 process. Requirements

  • Experience in a safety and health program development and implementation in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge or/and experience with ESH management systems such as ISO 14001/45001
  • Knowledge or/and experience using safety and health management tools such as Enablon
  • Understanding of union environments and collective bargaining agreements

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Technical background or equivalent experience in safety program development, implementation, and management preferably in an aerospace setting
  • Technical background or equivalent experience in the following critical skills: risk assessment and incident investigation
  • Technical background or equivalent experience in three or more of the following topic areas: machine guarding, fall protection, confined spaces, material handling, hoist and cranes, contractor management or robotics
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies at the federal, state, or local level
