About The Position

What we are looking for: A traveling Safety Professional to join our Mission Critical team. The Safety Professional serves in a dual role; where the initial objective is to operate in a consultative capacity, by providing expert support, guidance, and motivation to operations management and employees at all levels. In addition, along with management, the Safety Professional at AE is expected to be a “hands on” partner in delivering various safety initiatives and programs specifically to develop a safety culture supporting the goal and daily mission of Incident and Injury Free (“Nobody Gets Hurt”) in the course of any work performed by AE. Your role at Aldridge will be to champion the Incident & Injury Free culture. Lead and coordinate safety initiatives and related programs for a geographic region. Drive communication, planning, implementation, supervision, and measurement in compliance with corporate safety standards and procedures, OSHA and other federal and state regulations. What you’ll do: Job Purpose: To implement and assess the effectiveness of the organization's safety management system, compliance strategies, and sustainable management practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in an Occupational Safety and Health discipline (e.g. OS&H Management, Human Factors, Construction) from a four-year college or university
  • Knowledge of construction safety practices and current Federal and OSHA regulations.
  • Excels at time management and prioritization, consistently meeting deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Possesses a strong sense of responsibility and accountability for assigned tasks and projects
  • The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred qualifications include 1-3 years of direct experience in Construction Safety and Occupational Health disciplines, though relevant internship experience or education will also be considered; on-the-job experience, professional certifications, and a degree in Safety & Health may substitute for the required experience

Responsibilities

  • Champion the organization’s IIF culture and strengthen defenses to control exposure while integrating human performance principles
  • Administer and provide recommendations for the safety management system to Divisional and Regional Operations, ensuring adherence to rules and policies
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions and toolbox talks with crews at job sites
  • Facilitate safety orientations for new employees across various disciplines within the organization
  • Perform job site inspections and observations to identify unsafe conditions and practices, documenting findings in the LMS and reporting them to management
  • Coordinate supplemental inspections when introducing new processes, equipment, or recognizing hazards
  • Assist in developing project safety preplans and hazard analyses in collaboration with managers, supervisors, and foremen for new jobs
  • Verify the timely completion of corrective actions for identified hazards
  • Assist in investigating injuries and illnesses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures
  • Ensure compliance with the Hazard Communication Program, Emergency Action Plan, Fire Prevention Plan, Confined Space Entry Program, and other OSHA-required programs
  • Maintain sufficient First Aid supplies and fire extinguishers in company vehicles and local offices
  • Serve as a liaison between the company and general and subcontractors
  • Lead initiatives to improve safety culture, focusing on reducing injury rates and enhancing morale
  • Manage PPE order forms and stock levels
