The Safety Engineer 2 is an entry-level position and should have general construction knowledge and a passion for safety. This position will continue to learn proper ways to enforce company safety, health, and environmental policies. This role will assist in overseeing safety and work practices on construction projects to identify, eliminate, and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage using job specific safety standards, best management practices and injury free environment techniques.

  • Analyze incident reports to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide mentorship and development to Safety Engineer 1
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to occupational health and safety.
  • Attend/assist with weekly project safety training meetings.
  • Assist in supervision & administration of safety/first aid & rescue activities.
  • Assist in incident investigation & reporting with your assigned supervisor.
  • Conduct job site safety checks and audits.
  • Thoroughly understands all MCC safety programs & policies; clearly communicates & enforces such programs & policies to field personnel.
  • Continually monitor project activities to ensure safe work practices are being followed.
  • Participate in all regional safety meetings and safety committee meetings, contributing ideas for improving safety culture within the organization.
  • Responsible for conducting themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibiting attributes matching the Way We Work.

  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Function effectively as part of a team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • 2-year associate degree or relevant Safety experience
  • OSHA 30 awareness training – Construction
  • 4 years of industry experience
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, NFPA).
