About the position

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, monitoring, and coordinating safety programs across all facilities of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD). This role involves investigating employee accidents, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and implementing corrective measures to enhance workplace safety. The Safety Coordinator acts as a liaison with regulatory agencies and manages various safety-related initiatives, including training programs and risk reduction strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain site-specific safety programs in compliance with PERRP/OSHA standards.
• Conduct job safety analysis and hazard assessments for job functions subject to safety regulations.
• Monitor workers' compensation claims and act as a liaison with relevant agencies.
• Investigate employee safety complaints and provide technical interpretation of regulations.
• Assist in the coordination of the organization's Business Continuity Plan and Emergency Communications Plan.
• Facilitate the GPS vehicle tracking program to ensure safe driving of MWCD vehicle fleet.
• Conduct periodic safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

• Possession of an Associate's Degree in a related field.
• Four or more years of related experience in safety coordination or a similar role.
• Valid driver's license and insurability by MWCD fleet insurance.
