About The Position

Hunt Electric, Inc. is seeking a Safety Coordinator for some of our various project needs. This position will be working directly with other project level functional leads to address safety/health requirements on the jobsite. This is a key position in ensuring the smooth execution of construction projects from start to finish. The Safety Coordinator will bdfe responsible for promoting a safe & healthy work environment. This candidate will be responsible for continuous improvement of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) systems resulting in the reduction of incidents and ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in construction setting.
  • Must possess an OSHA 10 or 30 construction certificate.
  • Knowledge of state and federal safety regulations as applied to construction and general industry.
  • Self-driven, willing to work alone or as part of a team on assigned tasks and initiatives.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel as needed.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to physically perform the duties and functions of the position.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical trade experience preferred.
  • OSHA 30
  • Journeyman Electrician
  • First Aid, CPR & AED certifications.
  • Electrical safety-NFPA 70E, Excavation, fall protection and confined space certified.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety assessments/inspections of projects under construction to monitor and ensure compliance with safety/health requirements including contractual commitments, laws, regulations and the project’s site specific environmental, safety & health plans. A strong emphasis will be on promoting and improving the companies “Safety leading measures”
  • Collaborate with management to develop, prepare, and implement environmental, safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Assist the Safety & Risk manager in the development of Method of Procedure (MOP) and critical activity plans.
  • Working knowledge of injury prevention, compliance, and risk reduction techniques.
  • Conduct investigations into employee or sub-contractor injuries, motor vehicle accidents, spills, discharges, theft, vandalism, property damages and develop written reports to document, including root cause analysis.
  • As directed, conduct safety & compliance training for supervisors & field employees.
  • Ability to lead and direct in an emergency event.
  • Provide comprehensive written reports to document site visits, activities and incidents as needed.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for learning, goal-oriented mindset for continual growth, with a “Can-Do” positive attitude.
  • Actively contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrates dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
  • Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.
