About The Position

As Safety Coordinator , you support and improve Health & Safety programs at Plastipak’s site in Champaign, IL. You Will: Coordinate Health & Safety programs, including processes and procedures, safety controls, PPE requirements, associate training, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts. Ensure legal, regulatory and company compliance while supporting documentation, reporting, and audits, including those facilitated by third-parties. Perform studies and analysis to compile reports and provide recommendations to management. Evaluate accidents, property damage and near miss incidents, seeking root cause, then collaborate with colleagues to implement corrective and preventative action plans. Participate in inspections and investigations when accidents or injuries occur. Administer associate training, including developing new and updating existing training, while championing one of our prime values at Plastipak: Safety Proactively shape a Safety First culture across all departments at the site. You Have: Associate’s Degree (A.S.) in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or similar program preferred Minimum of one (1) years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred. Working knowledge of industrial manufacturing operations Knowledge of OSHA/EPA compliance and environmental protection Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with Associates, Management and third parties You'll Earn: $55,000 - 65,000 annually, based on skills, experience, education, and qualifications! Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree (A.S.) in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or similar program preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of industrial manufacturing operations
