About The Position

The Safety Coordinator I is responsible for coordinating and monitoring safety and environmental programs at designated location(s). This role ensures compliance with established safety policies, regulatory standards, and environmental requirements while serving as a liaison between management, contractors, and employees. The Safety Coordinator I plays a key role in promoting safe work practices, identifying potential hazards, and supporting continuous improvement in workplace safety initiatives. This position does not have supervisory authority.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of national safety and environmental standards, including fire safety programs.
  • Strong observational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver safety training programs.
  • Effective verbal, written, and multimedia communication skills to present safety concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive partnerships with employees and management to foster a safe work environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required licensing through the appropriate gaming authority.
  • NOTE: This job is a safety sensitive position subject to drug testing requirements. A positive drug test will result in a job offer being rescinded or, for active employees, termination, even if they test positive for marijuana and have a valid medical marijuana license.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures (P&Ps) and verify completion of safety and environmental action items.
  • Conduct routine safety and environmental inspections and audits.
  • Complete and forward requisitions and recommendations to the Safety Manager as needed.
  • Conduct and review incident investigations; perform in-depth reviews when necessary and identify safety trends.
  • Facilitate safety meetings and deliver safety and environmental training to enhance safe work practices and promote awareness.
  • Serve as liaison between management, contractors, and employees to address safety-related concerns in daily operations.
  • Coordinate safety equipment supplies and related resources across assigned location(s).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Work in environments that may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, noise, and other unusual elements, while adhering to required safety precautions and use of protective equipment.
  • Handle objects up to 25 pounds and stand and/or walk for extended periods (4+ hours daily).
