About The Position

The Safety Coordinator at Volt is responsible for supporting the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards within the Lincoln, Nebraska facility. This role involves managing safety training, conducting inspections, and maintaining safety documentation to promote a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in safety coordination or a related field.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage training databases and track compliance effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for updating safety information and conducting meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Support the EHS Engineer in scheduling annual compliance exercises such as hearing tests and LOTO verification.
  • Assist with set-up and hosting during monthly safety meetings.
  • Collect safety inspection sheets from supervisors.
  • Manage receipts and proof of payments for services and permits.
  • Maintain certificate of liability files from contractors.
  • Organize manifest documents for waste pick-up.
  • Oversee the safety supplies storage room.
  • Update content for the Short Interval Meeting (SIM) boards.
  • Standardize safety information and notifications posted in the factory.
  • Update the West Entry and cafeteria with necessary information in a clean and organized manner.
  • Input role codes for new and transferred workers in the training database.
  • Track compliance-related courses and schedule them in advance of expiration dates.
  • Create training lists for supervisors and build rosters for all training sessions at the Lincoln location.
  • Track completed and needed training for front-line staff and supervisors.
  • Monitor forklift compliance after training is completed.
