About The Position

The Safety Consultant serves as the primary Safety Consultant (Alternate Safety Coordinator) for the Department of Management Services in Florida. This role involves liaising with the Department of Financial Services for the Loss Prevention and Risk Management Program, overseeing safety operations, and assisting with the Environmental Health and Safety Program. The consultant is responsible for developing and implementing a Risk Management Plan, coordinating safety training, and preparing reports and documents for safety advisory meetings.

Requirements

• A minimum of two years of experience in facility coordination, project management, real estate or similar.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily oversight of functional operations to safety managers and personnel for all areas of the safety program.
• Develop and implement a Risk Management Plan for DMS.
• Coordinate training for DMS personnel with an authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer.
• Review technical reports from the Division of Risk Management and prepare interpretations for the DMS Safety Advisory Board.
• Prepare the agenda and related documents for the DMS Safety Advisory Board meetings.
• Coordinate a quarterly safety specific award recognition program.
