About The Position

Western Grain Marketing specializes in providing comprehensive grain handling, storage, and marketing solutions for customers. We are committed to being the leading grain marketing and service company in our area. A Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and enforcing safety protocols across our grain handling facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, minimizing risk, and fostering a culture of safety among all employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Agriculture, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification.
  • Three (3) plus years of safety management experience, ideally in grain handling, agriculture, or industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with grain elevator operations and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Experience with hazard analysis, incident investigation, and safety audits.
  • Commitment to following safety guidelines and regulations.
  • The role involves physical labor, including the ability to lift and move heavy objects for loading and unloading.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, during peak planting and harvesting seasons, and outside of normal hours throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide safety training and education for employees.
  • Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve safety practices.
  • Monitor grain-handling processes to prevent hazards, including dust explosions and confined-space risks.
  • Follow safety and compliance standards to help ensure their well-being and the safety of others.
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service.
