About The Position

Airgas is hiring for a Safety and Compliance Director in Lawrenceville, GA! This position will report directly to the ANC Business President with dotted line reporting to the APG Division VP of Safety for alignment and support of Division goals and initiatives. They will be responsible for overall Safety Performance and Regulatory Compliance of the Airgas National Carbonation business unit and will lead a staff of 3 functional experts who provide front-line, field support. The role is a hybrid position, requiring significant time in the field supporting drivers, technicians, and other elements of business operations. The Safety and Compliance Director will demonstrate Safety Leadership to lead Business initiatives, ensure ongoing Business priorities are met, and safety KPIs achieved. They will identify trends and develop strategies as part of a Safety Improvement Plan, execute annual audit plans, and ensure a comprehensive Safety Management Program is in place and aligned with Division & SAFECOR initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college, preferably in safety, engineering or a related technical field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Worker's Compensation, EPA, OSHA, DOT, and General Employee safety.
  • Supervisory experience including employee performance management.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification in Safety and Compliance (i.e. Certified Safety Professional).
  • Experience in the DuPont© Stop Program, Smith System Defensive Driving Program and DriveCam.

Responsibilities

  • Lead overall Safety Performance and Regulatory Compliance for the Airgas National Carbonation business unit.
  • Spend significant time in the field supporting drivers, technicians, and other business operations.
  • Demonstrate Safety Leadership to lead Business initiatives and ensure ongoing Business priorities are met.
  • Identify trends and develop strategies as part of a Safety Improvement Plan.
  • Develop and execute annual audit plans.
  • Identify gaps in current processes and develop strategic plans to address them.
  • Drive Division & SAFECOR resources to address business needs.
  • Lead monthly safety meetings and develop/distribute materials.
  • Collaborate with other Business Safety & Compliance Managers to identify emerging issues.
  • Lead crisis management & Incident Investigation for various incidents.
  • Ensure corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) are identified and driven to closure.
  • Direct oversight of the complete workplace safety program and structure.
  • Provide training for employees on a wide range of safety topics.
  • Lead a team of Safety & Compliance Managers including performance management and employee development.
