About The Position

Position Summary: The Safety Companion provides continuous, attentive observation of assigned patients to maintain their safety. This role performs light patient care tasks, which may include repositioning, ambulation assistance, bathing, feeding, and other activities of daily living. The Safety Companion documents relevant information in the patient record and communicates effectively with the care team to promote seamless, high-quality care. Responsibilities may vary based on departmental needs and the specific support required for patients of all age groups, contributing to each patient’s comfort and well-being.

Requirements

  • High School/GED
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR Certification through the American Heart Association
  • Phlebotomy Technician Certification (PBT)
  • 6 months in a team orientated environment or customer service role
  • Completion of formal structured phlebotomy program OR 3 months’ full-time phlebotomy experience or equivalent.
  • Experience working with an electronic medical record system, such as Epic
  • Maintain composure while working under pressure; ability to perform job duties with frequent interruptions and/or distractions
  • Positive, professional attitude and demeanor
