About The Position

The Safety and Training Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and training programs that ensure a safe working environment and enhance employee skills. This role is crucial in promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement, aligning with the organization's mission to foster a supportive and productive workplace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety training and program development.
  • Proven track record in implementing safety policies and procedures.
  • Experience in conducting safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive safety programs and training initiatives tailored to the specific needs of Goodwill.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Develop and deliver engaging training sessions that enhance employees' understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure safety and training programs are integrated into daily operations and meet organizational objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training attendance, and evaluations to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and guide employees on best practices and safety measures.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to continually improve safety and training programs.
  • Lead initiatives to promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive risk management across the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.
