About The Position

The Safety and Security Specialist position at Loudoun County's Office of Emergency Management, Safety & Security focuses on enhancing safety and security across County facilities. Requirements

• Associate's Degree with coursework in Criminal Justice, Fire Science, Emergency Management, Industrial Hygiene, Workplace Security, or a related field.
• Three (3) years of related work experience in occupational safety and/or security, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• Development and delivery of Employee, Contractor, and Citizen Training.
• Experience in Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS, private security, and/or Military experience (CPTED and Security Assessments and Managing Guard Services).
• Experience in the field of Occupational Health and Safety (Hazard Assessments, Safety Inspections).

Responsibilities

• Conducting training for employees on safety and security topics, including emergency preparedness, CPR and first aid, situational awareness, emergency procedures, personal safety, and de-escalation techniques.
• Conducting safety and security inspections in all County facilities.
• Managing and working with contractors to procure and provide safety and security training programs for employees.
• Assessing safety and security training needs for County staff.
• Maintaining safety and security training and facility audit records.
• Maintaining and developing training materials.
• Managing projects related to Safety and Security, such as the AED program and training.
• Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
