Why This Role Is Important to SUD Treatment? A safe, structured environment is essential to successful recovery. As a Security & Safety Monitor, you play a critical role in maintaining the physical and emotional security that allows patients to focus on healing. Your presence helps reduce risk, prevent diversion, manage crises, and ensure facility rules are followed, creating stability during one of the most vulnerable times in a patient’s life. Your work behind the scenes has a powerful impact on treatment outcomes. Your Role in Transforming Recovery In this hands-on, highly visible role, you will: Monitor and control patient movement throughout the facility Conduct safety and security rounds across the building Maintain accurate daily logs and documentation Complete room inspections and reports on a daily and rotating schedule Perform patient room searches and property searches, maintaining proper chain of custody Support Nursing staff with visual searches during admissions Assist with crisis management and patient de-escalation Support Counselor Technicians with patient transfers Monitor medication and MAT lines to prevent diversion Participate in K-9 walkthroughs in coordination with the Regional Director of Security Transport patients safely as needed Provide general support to the program and care team as situations arise Your vigilance, professionalism, and calm presence help protect patients, staff, and the integrity of treatment.
