About The Position

The Health Coordinator at Nucor Buildings Group is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Onsite Medical Clinic and Wellness Programs. This role focuses on ensuring efficient clinic operations, including triage, patient care, and scheduling, while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The Health Coordinator will collaborate with healthcare practitioners and safety coordinators to promote health initiatives and safety programs, emphasizing the importance of safety in all job functions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • RN, LVN, EMT, or Paramedic in good standing with the State Board.
  • 2-3 years of experience working in a Medical Clinic or healthcare setting, preferably in an Industrial or Manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of medical laws and practices, including workers' compensation, drug screening laws, and HIPAA responsibilities.
  • Willingness to be available for off-shift consultations and support in urgent or emergency situations.
  • Experience with general triage, taking vitals, splinting, and basic emergency care.
  • Experience managing patient files and working with EMR systems and paper medical records.
  • BLS Certification is required.
  • Ability to recognize life-threatening situations and respond effectively in both clinical and industrial settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Occupational Hearing Conservations (COHC) or within 6 months of hire.
  • AHA BLS Instructor or equivalent or within 6 months of hire.
  • DOT Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) or within 6 months of hire.
  • Previous experience working in Occupational Medical setting.
  • Additional certifications or training in occupational health or safety management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare practitioners and safety coordinators to provide effective care and wellness initiatives.
  • Lead and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
