About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Health & Safety Specialist to join the team in our Trenton, SC plant. Employee/Labor Health & Safety work encompasses activities related to the wellbeing of employees including: • Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace • Identifying potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions • Investigating accidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence • Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to employee health and safety • Maintaining and analyzing records of workplace injuries, illness, and absences to identify areas of concern and provide information required by regulatory agencies

Requirements

• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads projects or processes of diverse scope, while working independently with limited supervision
• Coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals
• Supports continuous improvement/automation activities
• Uses advanced analytical/technical problem solving to develop new solutions to existing problems/procedures
• Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
