Requirements

  • Working knowledge of the truckload transportation industry.
  • Solid understanding of FMCSA and DOT safety regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and hazards.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to respond to urgent safety situations when needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and highly responsible.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transportation safety, compliance, or inspection.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with driver evaluations, vehicle inspections, and regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles, equipment, and driver operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local DOT/FMCSA regulations.
  • Monitor safety and accident prevention programs, providing feedback and documentation as needed.
  • Review and track driver safety scorecards, identifying areas for improvement and reporting findings to management.
  • Perform checks of onboard camera alert systems and document driver coaching needs for follow-up by supervisors.
  • Assist with accident and incident investigations by gathering facts, determining root causes, and recommending preventative measures.
  • Review new hire applications, background checks, and MVRs to confirm compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct and document road tests and driver evaluations.
  • Verify hours-of-service (HOS) compliance and identify E-Log violations for correction.
  • Assist in maintaining fleet registration and permitting records.
  • Support new hire orientation by presenting safety procedures and compliance requirements.
