Requirements

Working knowledge of the truckload transportation industry.
Solid understanding of FMCSA and DOT safety regulations.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and hazards.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to respond to urgent safety situations when needed.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Dependable, trustworthy, and highly responsible.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transportation safety, compliance, or inspection.

Nice To Haves

Experience with driver evaluations, vehicle inspections, and regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular inspections of vehicles, equipment, and driver operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local DOT/FMCSA regulations.
Monitor safety and accident prevention programs, providing feedback and documentation as needed.
Review and track driver safety scorecards, identifying areas for improvement and reporting findings to management.
Perform checks of onboard camera alert systems and document driver coaching needs for follow-up by supervisors.
Assist with accident and incident investigations by gathering facts, determining root causes, and recommending preventative measures.
Review new hire applications, background checks, and MVRs to confirm compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Conduct and document road tests and driver evaluations.
Verify hours-of-service (HOS) compliance and identify E-Log violations for correction.
Assist in maintaining fleet registration and permitting records.
Support new hire orientation by presenting safety procedures and compliance requirements.
