Safety Analyst (Hybrid)

Globe Life is looking for a Safety Analyst to join the team! In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Safety and Emergency Preparedness Programs through plan and documentation maintenance, exercise preparation, hazard identification by performing worksite safety assessments, workplace safety training, incident investigations, and conducting internal inspections. The candidate for this position will collaborate and communicate effectively with various departments across the company while promoting a holistic safety culture. This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, TX (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Assist with developing and implementing policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, and training pertaining to workplace safety.
• Participate in safety committee and incident review meetings to address issues related to safety and emergency preparedness.
• Develop and gather metrics that can be used to identify trends in safety practices that improve the overall safety of the business.
• Specify and provide health and safety support on projects in accordance with Globe Life policies and government regulations in order to control hazards to personnel and equipment while limiting liability to the company.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state workplace safety regulations.
• Assist with emergency preparedness exercises and drills including pandemic, evacuation, shelter in place, and point of dispensing (POD) and others as needed.
• Assist with leading hotwash debriefing sessions post emergency preparedness drills and documenting after action reports.
• Partner with business leaders throughout the company to coordinate associated annual assessments and drills.
• Document incidents, and share lessons learned from incidents and exercises with management.
• Work with Globe Life personnel (facilities, security, site leadership teams) to develop partnership with local authorities to coordinate response during events.
• Work with training development team to create safety training courses as needed and conduct in-house training sessions when necessary.
• Assist and support safety committees in ongoing efforts.
• 15% Travel.
• Other duties as assigned. Duties will vary according to the project in progress and/or the specific goals of the department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health and/or minimum 4+ years' experience in related field or equivalent experience.
• Preferred certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP) Designation.
• Experience in the disciplines Occupational Employee Safety and Emergency Preparedness.
• Experience with safety procedure development and exercise design.
• Working knowledge with Incident Command Systems (ICS) and National Incident Management System (NIMS).
• Knowledge of federal, provincial, state and local safety regulations, protocols, and procedures.
• Ability to gather and analyze safety metrics while preparing reports.
• Ability to analyze data and identify the root cause of an issue as well as providing recommendations for improvements.
• Ability to investigate and analyze information.
• Strong business process documentation skills.
• Good interpersonal skills that include the ability to effectively communicate both in written and verbal forms.
• Influence a culture of safety.
• Must be flexible and maintain a positive 'can do' attitude.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Publisher, Visio), and Adobe Acrobat.
