About The Position

SMG seeks a Construction Safety Advisor – Construction in Temple, TX (Local or Traveler) The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a construction environment. This project is scheduled to last for 8 months. This person will be working 6 days a week, 10 hours per day. This project will consist of building a data center. This person will support daily safety operations, including, daily safety observations and reports, identifying and correcting potential hazards, and ensuring compliance with site specific and OSHA safety standards. This person will also lead routine onsite safety awareness training.

Requirements

Five plus years of construction safety experience
OSHA 510/500
First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
OSHA 30-hr Construction

Nice To Haves

Data Center construction experience preferred
Bilingual - English/Spanish - strong preferred
BSCP Cert preferred - CSP, CHST, STSC, etc.
A degree in safety or related fields is preferred

Responsibilities

Site safety observations, including documentation of findings
Must be able to create reports, run safety metrics, and use other software programs
Conduct Job Hazard Analysis
Represent the contractor in progress meetings
Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner, and contractors
Conduct New Hire Orientations and safety meetings
Conduct safety trainings
Provides incident management and support
Documentation and Report preparation
Conducts Contractor program reviews
