Ameresco’s Federal Division seeks a Safety Administrator specializing in document control to support the development, maintenance, and submission of safety plans. This role ensures compliance with federal standards, streamlines documentation workflows, and provides audit‑ready records that enable timely project approvals and strengthen our safety culture. This is a remote role with a preference for candidates located in the Midwest to support project requirements and facilitate time zone coordination.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of construction experience
  • Ability to review confidential US security information

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in federal contracting or O&M environments, with knowledge of Army Corps of Engineers QC and safety standards preferred.
  • Strong document management skills, ideally with construction and safety management tools such as Procore and EHS software (e.g., Vector EHS) preferred.
  • Detail‑oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple document streams simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise between safety managers, operations, and federal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel (including workflow automation), SharePoint, and related document management platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Safety plan development: Assist in drafting, updating, and standardizing safety plans across federal projects.
  • Document control: Manage version control, track revisions, and maintain centralized, accessible records.
  • Compliance assurance: Align documentation with OSHA, NAVFAC, and federal requirements before submission.
  • Pre‑submission review: Validate formatting, compliance language, and attachments prior to manager sign‑off.
  • Deadline management: Track submission timelines and proactively ensure audit‑ready documentation well ahead of project approvals.
  • Training support: Organize and distribute updated training materials, ensuring accessibility for diverse teams.
  • Audit preparation: Maintain audit‑ready binders and coordinate with safety managers for external reviews.
  • Perform other duties as required.
