We prioritize safety and foster a collaborative culture where employees are valued. This Safety Administrator position is based at our Aquamine plant located in Bristol, TN. Position Overview The Safety Administrator will assist with providing safety training, tracking safety training completion, and performing safety audits on our production floor. The Safety Administrator will assist in distributing and tracking weekly safety toolbox talks (TBTs). They will be a Safety Committee member and will attend, assist, and take minutes for safety committee meetings. The Safety Administrator will assist in safety initiatives and help to promote awareness among employees. They will be responsible for performing any other duties as assigned by the Regional Safety Manager, or Plant Management

Requirements

  • (2-3) years of experience in industrial safety, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety (or related), preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Good communication skills - both verbal and written- required.
  • Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times (safety glasses and steel toe shoes).
  • Safety equipment is provided by Victaulic, with the exception of steel toe shoes, which must be provided by the employee upon first day of employment.
  • The Safety Administrator Role is not an office job.
  • The Safety administrator can expect to split their time between an office setting and the production floor.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for tracking Safety Training, including sending out weekly reminder emails and training topics to the supervisor and management team
  • Hazard Elimination Tracking
  • Chemical Inventory and oversight of MSDS online
  • Forklift Training and tracking.
  • Assist in implementation of new monitoring system.
  • Maintain and update Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Provide training on JSAs
  • Be on the shop floor for Safety Audits
  • S.T.A.R. Evaluation program oversight
  • Conduct New Hire Safety Training
  • Oversight of PPE vending with oversight from Stauffer.
  • IH sampling
  • Facilitate plant wide safety trainings
  • To know and follow at all times proper safety procedures and to wear prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE) as they relate to the work being performed.
  • To report immediately to his/her supervisor any injury, unsafe act or condition, or any failure or impending failure of plant equipment.
