About The Position

This role will function as the subject matter expert on cable production processes and procedures for a safety cable department specializing in the cutting, crimping, and sealing of wire cable assemblies for the defense and aerospace industries. Individuals in this role will also be responsible for assisting with order fulfillment, inventories, scrap records and other fundamental aspects of the department function. We are seeking an energetic and motivated individual to help drive daily production, quality standards, and training as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
Experience maintaining shop inventories required

Nice To Haves

Ability to interpret blueprints preferred
Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment preferred

Responsibilities

Learn and perform essential functions of department production to include crimping, flash cutting, shaving and sealing of safety cable using manual, electronic and pneumatic tooling.
Assist the supervisor with daily shift standup to include work distribution, supply staging and anticipating risks for the day (Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Delivery).
Participate in 5S projects to enhance department organization and flow.
Assist the department supervisor with documenting standards and SOPs, as well as training them out to the shop.
Conduct inventories of essential supplies on weekly/monthly basis as needed.
Ensure the team properly and regularly rejecting defective materials and depositing them in the appropriate locations.
Remove dispositioned scrap from the department area and bring it to the designated quality location on a daily basis.
Be a champion for maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Collaborate with the production planning team for changes needed for order quantities and escalate material shortages in the event of stock discrepancies.
Ability to work while seated for the duration of shift if needed to run production equipment.
Ability to perform repetitive motions for crimping, sanding, and sealing operations as needed.
Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs.
