About The Position

We’re looking for an engineer to help us drive forward the web browsing experience in the education and enterprise space through configuration and management features for Safari. The Safari Extensions and Management team builds on the industry-leading WebKit engine and Apple’s frameworks to enhance what’s capable in a web browser through Safari Extensions and Mobile Device Management. Your impact will extend beyond Safari, as you help drive device management and app configuration capabilities across Apple platforms. In this role, you’ll build features that unlock the superpowers of Safari for students and employees around the world. You’ll build new features for our education and enterprise customers while also bringing configuration capabilities to new and existing Safari features on platforms like iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS. You’ll be responsible for expanding the features manageable via MDM and DDM platforms in a modern, scalable, and reliable way. You’ll be involved from beginning to end — brainstorming, prototyping, coding, debugging, shipping, and addressing customer feedback. You’ll work cross-functionally with partner teams to deliver innovative solutions while protecting end-user privacy and security. Your work will enable the use of the latest Apple devices and technology in schools, businesses, and governments around the world.

Requirements

  • Detailed understanding of at least one of: Swift, Objective-C, C++, or C.
  • Strong object-oriented programming experience.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.
  • BS in Computer Science or related field, preferred, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with development on iOS and macOS.
  • Familiarity with Mobile Device Management and Declarative Device Management.
  • Familiarity with Python.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly synergistic environment focused on learning.
  • Excellent communication skills.
