The American Red Cross is seeking a full-time Mobile SAF-IS Regional Program Specialist to support the Service to Armed Forces and International Services (SAF-IS) missions in the Jacksonville, North Carolina Region. This role is integral to delivering American Red Cross programs and services to meet the needs of United States military members, veterans, and their families. The position requires travel to surrounding areas and is part of a mobile staff that must meet strict medical and security clearances prior to employment. Worldwide deployment is a condition of employment, with mobile staff typically deploying for six months approximately once every 18-24 months to any military base globally. In this role, the SAF-IS Regional Program Specialist will assist in the delivery of International Services (IS) U.S. programs, including International Humanitarian Law (IHL), Youth Action Campaign (YAC), and Restoring Family Links (RFL). The specialist will manage volunteers and collaborate with other Red Cross departments to enhance visibility for SAF/IS U.S. within the military community. The position also involves serving as part of the Hero Care Center Contingency Team, providing casework expertise, and managing volunteers during surge situations and disaster responses. The specialist will be responsible for relationship management and community outreach, acting as the face of the Red Cross at assigned locations. This includes building strong partnerships with external constituents, such as government organizations and community agencies, to further the mission of the Red Cross. Additionally, the role involves volunteer management, ensuring the effective delivery of SAF core services and IS U.S. programs, and maintaining deployment readiness at all times through ongoing training and medical requirements. Reporting and administrative support are also key components, as the specialist will monitor and report on service delivery outcomes and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
