JOB SUMMARY: Manage and coordinate new costume/make-up projects. Liaison between various costume development stakeholders such as Universal Creative, Fabrication, Fabrication/Make-up Vendors, and Operating Groups. Responsible for seeing the program from conception to finished product and opening orders. Use analytical skills to ensure assigned projects meet design standards for guest and team member satisfaction & financial goals while maintaining the highest safety standards. Manage publications for new projects including style guides, standards and photo libraries. Manage the process of updating current costumes to be more efficient, practical, or themed. Manage and develop yearly Costume/Make-up program reviews. Project and develop budgets for new costumes/make-up programs. Partner with Universal Creative and end users to identify needed modifications. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Developing new product from a concept through fabrication to finished costumes ready for issue. Meet with stakeholders and get appropriate approvals to bring concept through all stages of viable costume/make-up design. Create from design usable costumes/make-up that will be utilized within the resort. Manage the processes of testing costume/make-up quality and durability. Coordinate and produce final fittings and executive presentation for review and approval. Create style guides for each new costume make-up program or venue. Overseeing the procurement process of all new fabrics, accessories, and any new wardrobe product. Establish networking abilities throughout Universal Orlando Creative and maintain relationships with multiple vendors. Obtain sample product to establish requested costume/make-up look. Builds, manages and reconciles project budgets when necessary. Manage competitive bid process to ensure relationship between quality fabrication and best prices for each costume/make-up product. Also responsible for writing scopes of work. Source different fabric to ensure the most cost effective and comfortable costume items are obtained. Meet with vendors on a regular basis to discuss quality challenges, new options for costume comfort and sustainability of fabric for future needs. Study industry trends and benchmark current and future products. Hold meetings with operators and/or creative to discuss costume/make-up items. Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned.
