About The Position

The Sacramental Minister position at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, involves providing pastoral ministry to Catholic patients and their families. The role includes leading associates in addressing the needs of Catholic patients and fulfilling the spiritual needs of the organization through worship, sacraments, and religious rituals. The minister will coordinate ministry efforts with staff chaplains and administer Catholic Sacraments, including daily Mass and the Sacrament of the Sick. Additionally, the minister will assess and respond to the spiritual and emotional needs of those counseled, including crisis intervention and bereavement support. Documentation of visits and interventions in the medical record and appropriate department tracking tools is also required.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Divinity, Theology, Philosophy, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field is required.
• Ordained as a Roman Catholic Priest is required.
• Faculties granted by the local ministry's diocese is required.
• Completion of 1 unit of CPE is preferred.
• 1 year of pastoral experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral ministry to Catholic patients and their families.
• Lead associates in addressing the needs of Catholic patients.

• Coordinate ministry to Catholic patients with staff chaplains and other patients.

• Conduct other religious rituals as needed.
