About The Position

The position involves architecting, implementing, and operating server hardware and purchased system software in a Wintel environment. The role requires identifying server software and hardware needs and making recommendations accordingly. The individual will support all network communication protocols used in the infrastructure and ensure the integrity of corporate data by managing a sound backup strategy. Additionally, the position entails maintaining the security of networked systems and coordinating with network engineering and software development teams as needed. The role also includes technical research and development to enable ongoing innovation within the infrastructure, ensuring that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values. Responsibilities include the implementation and maintenance of various Windows systems such as Active Directory Services, Application Servers, DHCP Servers, DNS Servers, File Services, Print and Document Services, Remote Desktop Services, SQL Database Servers, Web Services, Windows Update Services, Exchange mail, and Microsoft instant messaging communications strategies. The position also involves managing Windows and Application systems that support asset management, operations, and state monitoring for datacenter infrastructure, including VMware and Microsoft Hypervisors to support a virtualized datacenter. The individual will also be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Data warehouse / ETL systems, Imaging Systems, Business Intelligence systems, and Geocoding / Geolocation systems. Advanced troubleshooting skills are required for efficient problem mitigation and resolution of all systems and services in the Windows environment. The position has a component of IT security responsibility for its functional area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (4-year) degree, or combined work experience of 8-10 years.
  • In-depth knowledge of core networking protocols and functions (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, Ethernet, File and Print Services).
  • In-depth knowledge of network operating systems and virtualization (Microsoft, VMware).
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise servers and applications (Microsoft Exchange, SQL).
  • Knowledge of security protocols and technologies.
  • Knowledge of programming/scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of network storage systems.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license and maintain a driving record that complies with the Underwriting guides for the Mutual Insurance Company.
  • Advanced skill in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications is required.
  • Must be able to solve highly complex technical problems.
  • Must know how to read, analyze and interpret procedures, instructions and other documents.
  • Must know how to research and analyze trends in the IT industry.

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting skills for efficient problem mitigation and resolution of all systems and services in the Windows environment.
  • Keep management and team members informed of technical issues that arise.
  • Work closely with other IT departments to support and administer systems, applications, and services consumed by other IT teams.
  • Be available for 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Travel as required with occasional overnight trips.
