University programming offers social benefits for our students, including: improved self-confidence, improved social relations, wide forum to allow students to socially interact, and increased commitment to peers. At its best, university programs are more than simply 'things to do.' They provide opportunities for students to learn about themselves, others, and our world. Student Affairs hires programming assistants, who are expected to provide a safe, enjoyable, developmental environment for student participants at all times. University programming is meant to offer a wide variety of programs, activities, and events to support campus life and student development.

  • Working with the Dean or designate, develop several activities and events occurring at strategic times throughout the academic year.
  • Build a set of programs that appeal to a wide diversity of interests and tastes.
  • Bring local, regional, and national acts to campus.
  • Maintain programming budget utilizing university guidelines.
  • Develop programming themes or series throughout the year.
  • Provide a friendly, upbeat and student-development-oriented environment at all times.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student at Mayville State University.
  • It is preferred the applicant is a full-time student.
  • To continue employment, you must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 during employment.
  • Previous programming experience
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Knowledge of event planning
  • Leadership, membership, or participation in student organization(s)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Earn $9.50/hour
  • Flexible working hours, mostly during weekday evenings and occasionally on weekends
