About The Position
The position of Corporal is a secondary supervisor for field operations in the Sheriffs Department in the absence of a Sergeant. The duties include the direct supervision of deputies, assuring effective assumption of prescribed or assigned duties and responsibilities as promulgated by job description, NM Motor Vehicle Codes, Criminal statutes, Fair Labor Standards Act and other laws. Employee must perform all duties with minimal supervision. Employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings and perform other duties as assigned. Promotion will be based on the results of a Written Examination (30 points), Oral Interview (20 points), Seniority (10 points), Education (10 points), Management Review (30 points).
