About the position

The RV Technician position at Colton RV & Marine involves performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on recreational vehicles. The role is designed for individuals who are handy and responsible, with a focus on quality work. While specific RV experience is not required, candidates should be willing to learn and adapt to various repair tasks, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry and appliance maintenance on RVs.
  • Ensure that the final work product meets quality standards.
  • Examine and diagnose RV problems.
  • Discuss repairs with shop foreman or RV service advisor.
  • Communicate additional service requests to RV service advisor.
  • Plan work procedures in cooperation with shop foreman.
  • Provide labor time estimates to RV service advisor.
  • Monitor repair time and update RV service advisor regularly.
  • Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on RV care and operation.
  • Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs.
  • Attend company trainings as required.
  • Keep current with factory technical bulletins.
  • Communicate with all departments when more information is needed or when problems arise.
  • Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • RVIA certification preferred but not required.
  • State Inspection License is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Ability to diagnose and fix electrical, heating, plumbing, and hydraulic systems.
  • Construction skills to repair water damaged units.
  • Must have own tools appropriate to skill level.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with clean, insurable, driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in trade fields such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing are a plus!
  • Experience preferred in one of the following categories: Boat Exteriors, Boat Interiors, Carpentry, Cars, Electrical Systems, Fiberglass, High and Low Voltage Systems, HVAC, Hydraulics, Plumbing, Propane Systems, RVs, Welding.
