GE Aerospace will be hiring for the Advanced Machinist/Toolmaker Apprentice Program in Rutland, VT. The program is a three-year curriculum consisting of rotational manufacturing assignments and classroom training. You will work in a fast-paced work environment supporting jet engine fan and compressor airfoils production. Program students are required to attend classes 3-4 nights a week throughout the 3-year program. All tuition for classes will be paid for by GE Aerospace. Past program graduates have gone on to significant roles in technical & leadership assignments. Program graduates will earn a certificate of completion and college credits from Vermont State University that can be applied towards an Associate Degree in Applied Science.   • Attend classes 3-4 nights a week throughout the 3-year program.
  • Support jet engine fan and compressor airfoils production.
  • Set-up and operate manual and CNC machines.
  • Follow area and machine safety practices/procedures.
  • Follow work instructions and routing sheets.
  • Perform machine pre-checks.
  • Inspect and perform minor machine maintenance.
  • Download programs and input offset changes.
  • Change cutting tools and provide bench skills including benching and inspection.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old by August 18, 2025.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • A letter outlining why you want to participate in the program.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen including testing for marijuana.
  • Ability and willingness to earn a certificate of completion in the registered 3-year apprentice program with the State of Vermont.
  • Must be willing to attend class 3-4 nights per week after working an 8-hour day.
  • Must be available to take the Accuplacer exam during ONE of the sessions offered at Stafford Technical Center.
  • Experience in setting up and operating manual and CNC machines.
  • Understanding of machine operation skills as identified in skill profile.
  • Experience in proper material handling techniques.
