About The Position

Rupture Disc Operator Trainee, 2nd shift : Monday-Thursday, 3:15pm-1:45am Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Rupture Disc Operator Trainee, 2nd shift. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide. Job Summary: Entry role focused on training and assisting operators. Performs routine and manual tasks which includes cleaning machines, punching out parts and forming parts. Emphasis is on learning techniques. Must read minimum training requirements. Training will take place on the first shift (M-F, 7-3:30pm) for approximately 2–3 months. Once training is complete, the role will transition to the permanent 2nd shift schedule (M-TH, 3:15pm-1:45am).

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and follow instructions, work orders, and engineered drawings.
Subject Matter Exposure.
Computer Literate.
Inspecting/Examining Ability.
Mechanical Dexterity.
Machining Aptitude.
Housekeeping.

Nice To Haves

Mechanical exposure or Vo-Tech training.

Responsibilities

Assists in lifting, moving, clamping and bolting dies and material on machines for formation.
May press out parts using punch presses and hydraulic air presses.
May use shears, nibblers, sanders and soldering equipment.
May use a Scotch Brite or sandpaper to buff part clean and/or wash part in an appropriate solution.
Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
Adheres to safety practices, 6S, and follows Fike policies and ISO9001.
Must be able to pass the forklift certificate within 6 months of hire.
Performs related duties as assigned.
