The Rules Coordinator performs highly advanced consultation, coordination, and technical assistance work under the Director of Compliance Operations, within the Office of Compliance & System Coordination (OCSC) at DSHS. This position serves as the lead and subject matter expert on agency wide rule-related matters and provides feedback and direction to program subject matter experts on work related to managing, drafting, and editing proposals and adoptions of administrative rules in accordance with Texas Administrative Code rulemaking guidelines. Work involves advanced technical writing and editing; developing and delivering a rulemaking process training program for agency staff; evaluating documentation and providing feedback to subject matter experts; logging, tracking, and scheduling administrative rule projects; and reporting the status or emerging issues to leadership on rule projects.
