We are looking for a RTP Site Leader to join our Agricultural Solutions team based in Research Triangle Park, NC. BASF’s Agricultural Solutions division connects innovation, customers, partners and agricultural experts and integrates sustainability criteria into all business decisions. We help farmers deliver the best possible outcomes, working to achieve the balance between economic, environmental, and social value creation for sustainable and efficient agriculture. As the RTP Site Leader, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of the AP campuses at RTP, supporting more than 1,200 employees across the two sites. Your responsibilities will span Crop Protection, Seeds & Traits, and certain embedded BASF corporate organizations, operating in an empowering environment where speed, efficiency, and open exchange of best solutions are valued. Overall, the role is accountable for fostering a culture of safety, compliance, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement, and serves as a key liaison between scientific, operational, and corporate stakeholders to ensure the RTP campuses meet the needs of their constituents.

  • Leading RTP site management by overseeing maintenance, engineering, controlling, EHS, and medical functions.
  • Developing and implementing mid- to long-term (3–5 year) strategic plans that coordinate cross-functional input, align with global and regional business strategies, and use data-driven decision-making.
  • Reporting planning, outcomes, and progress to APN leadership.
  • Leading RTP infrastructure and operational excellence efforts, including planning for labs, offices, and greenhouses.
  • Directing OPEX and CAPEX planning and reporting on planning accuracy and cost-improvement progress to APN leadership.
  • Leading safety and health policy development and enforcement, ensuring compliance with licenses and permits.
  • Maintaining emergency response procedures within the Business Continuity Plan, conducting safety training and drills, collaborating with local emergency services, and managing the emergency response team to ensure audit readiness.
  • Leading cultivation and development of high-performing teams by mentoring facilities and administrative staff.
  • Fostering a learning culture, promoting inclusion and open communication, recognizing achievements, and coaching leaders to support career development across functions.
  • Leading internal and external stakeholder engagement by representing the RTP site to APN leadership, regulatory bodies, industry partners, and the community.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational efficiencies, driving implementation of best practices, and ensuring the site remains resilient, future-oriented, and aligned with AP goals.
  • Have a Bachelor Degree in an Operations or related field and more than 10 years of experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of site management processes and proven communication and organizational skills in agricultural industry environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing people, including 10+ years of managing operations across industry environments and 10+ years of leading personnel at multiple levels.
  • Strategic leadership and planning accountability for RTP site-related strategic planning and operational direction.
  • Ability to develop, propose, and refine strategies to maintain a safe, efficient, and empowering environment.
  • Scientific and technical skills supporting the agrochemical industry and the management of a lab/office campus.
  • Ability to solve complex challenges drawing on broad expertise.
  • Effective communication and influence skills to engage senior management, align stakeholders, and liaise with site partners.
  • Proficient in business acumen and organizational awareness, supporting long-term site operations strategies.
