About The Position

The Reading Truck Group, LLC (Reading, PA) is seeking a Design Engineer: Create new and modify existing engineering documentation, drawings, bills of material, or other supporting documentation from a body specification or sales order.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering or a related field.
• Five years of academic or work experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• Five years of experience in the automotive industry working with sheet metal and plastic components for design.
• Experience evaluating costs for saving initiatives.
• Experience working with suppliers and launching new products.
• Specific experience in light and heavy-duty passenger vehicles, including trucks and buses.
• Five years of experience in SolidWorks, CATIA, ANSYS, Hyperworks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Five years of experience performing and evaluating FEAs, GD&T and Design and Process FMEA APQP processes.
• Five years of cross-functional project management experience following a gated process successfully achieving cost savings and process improvement goals.
• Five years of DV, VA/VE, and R&D Testing experience validating innovative designs and releasing new products for production.
• Five years of experience creating detailed 3D models, drawings, and BOMs, focusing on manufacturability.
• Experience creating/evaluating DFMEA reports for new products.
