The RT Vent Field Clinician is a Respiratory Therapist responsible for providing respiratory patient care to Vent patients in alternate sites, ensuring optimal outcomes in accordance with AdaptHealth’s policies and procedures. This role involves preventative, rehabilitative, and palliative respiratory care, utilizing agency and community resources. The RT will educate patients and caregivers, communicate with the healthcare team, physicians, referral sources, and other patient agencies to address patient care issues promptly. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate patient files, reviewing treatment plans, documenting procedures, assisting with ventilator referrals, and participating in discharge planning for highly technical cases. The clinician will also perform clinical assessments, provide in-services to hospital staff, and follow up with physicians regarding patient status. The role requires adherence to PPE procedures, infection control, and hazardous materials handling. The RT will also assume on-call responsibilities, review ventilator patient records for accuracy and compliance, maintain knowledge of ventilator technology, and instruct on equipment use. Communication with the healthcare team, understanding payer guidelines, and accurate electronic documentation are crucial. The position also involves collaborating with peers, acting as a resource, developing knowledge of HME products, maintaining patient confidentiality, and completing compliance training.
