About The Position

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced RT Inspectors for projects located in and around Newport News, VA . This is a first shift opportunity with a pay range of up to $46/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope: Conduct RT inspections (X-ray and Gamma radiography) on welding, piping, casting, and structural welds Ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications during inspections Interpret radiographic film to detect imperfections like cracks, porosity, or other weld defects Maintain a thorough understanding of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory standards Maintain accurate inspection records and reports for all conducted tests, including the results of radiographic films and inspection procedures Provide certification documentation showing compliance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A standards and IRRSP certification Prepare and submit inspection reports that align with customer and regulatory requirements Document and track any non-conformance issues that arise during inspections

Requirements

  • TC1A Certification (Level II in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A 2016 Edition
  • Ability to Read Blueprints (Basic competency)
  • Inspectors must pass written, theory, and practical exams for RT (radiography), particularly for welding inspections in piping, casting, and structural welds
  • Must be able to: Lift 50 lbs Climb vertical ladders Crawl in tanks and confined spaces Work at heights

Nice To Haves

  • 2501500 Qualification (likely a specific industry standard or company requirement)
  • IRRSP Certification for Radiographic Testing (must have passed and have documentation from an approved entity)
