About The Position

As an RSU Sorter Lead, you must be dependable, responsible, and able to work at a fast pace while always being able to occupy yourself with new tasks as needed. This includes properly monitoring the efficiency, productivity, and overall workload of your team. You must also be a team player with a solid work ethic who is always prompt, on time, and committed to maintaining consistent work attendance. It will also be important that you display exceptional attention to detail as well as the adaptability to move to a different position in the RSU environment as required.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Prior experience in a production/distribution/warehouse environment
  • At least one (1) year of processing experience in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution center environment is preferred
  • At least one (1) year of experience in the use of warehouse technology, including RF scanners to perform daily functions is preferred
  • Must have basic knowledge of computer (PC) skills
  • Knowledgeable in the use of warehouse management systems (Manhattan WMS preferred but not required)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions and have good command of the English language (speak, read, write) to perform necessary job functions
  • Must have good attendance/punctuality record, consistently at work and on time
  • Good math and counting skills (must be able to pass a basic math and reasoning assessment)
  • Ability to read labels and locations accurately
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment with others and possess good work ethics
  • Self-motivator with willingness to take on new tasks, challenges, and opportunities
  • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Must have excellent attention to detail with minimal errors
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to meet production quotas and rate-per-hour
  • Must always maintain a professional and positive attitude with the highest level of customer service
  • Ability to work in all areas of the distribution center and perform any necessary job duties as assigned
  • A dependable team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done and flexible in scheduling is required based on business needs (i.e., increased hours, weekends, holidays, and volume of work, staffing shortages, etc.)
  • Ability to use handling equipment and machinery including sorter systems, conveyors, RF scanners, metal hooks, plastic bags, plastic packaging, cardboard boxes, tape dispensers, and other materials necessary to the production and packaging of our merchandise
  • Reports directly to the RSU Management
  • Continuously standing, walking, sitting, reaching and working overhead, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, and crawling
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping, reaching, pulling, and pushing
  • Frequent use of ladders and/or lift equipment
  • Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more

Responsibilities

  • Receive, pick orders (utilizing RF scanner), process and fill supply orders
  • Follow all MOS procedures including daily huddle, DOR, employee tours, tracking lost time, keeping the communication boards up to date and completing action plans
  • Pack, prepare products for shipment, verify, inspect contents, receive, and put away or store products
  • Quickly and accurately pick inventory to fill store requisitions and orders
  • Ensure accuracy and count of products selected
  • Process merchandise using a wireless RF (radiofrequency) hand-held scanner
  • Accurately perform procedures using company computer systems
  • Sort, organize, and store products in designated locations
  • Work RSU sorter
  • Packing
  • Inspect and ensure quality control on inbound and outbound products
  • Record and report any damaged merchandise to the designated supervisor
  • Meet production standards set by management
  • Assist in loading/unloading products
  • Provide immediate feedback to management regarding discrepancies
  • Follow standard operating procedures to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit and supporting the company’s goals and objectives
  • Always promote safe work practices to ensure a safe work environment and report all maintenance or safety issues requiring corrective action
  • Help to maintain a clean and neat work environment
  • Assist in all other areas of the distribution center
