The Resource Specialist Teacher will develop individual educational plans (IEPs) for the purpose of meeting the individual needs of exceptional learners. Evaluating learners for the purpose of identifying their unique needs will involve consulting/collaborating with staff, parents, and outside partners for the purpose of ensuring appropriate delivery of services and adherence to due process. The Resource Specialist will serve as a specialist in math, reading, writing, and other specialized content areas. Through an inclusion model, the teacher collaborates with general education teachers and support staff in identifying, developing, and applying assessment and instructional intervention strategies designed to improve student learning in specific areas. The Resource Specialist teacher will work in a variety of teaching settings. Resource Specialist teachers share in the responsibility for student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student’s readiness to learn including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare. This is a full-time, exempt, non-year-round position.
