About The Position

The RS Aircraft Maintenance Technician I position at Gulfstream Aerospace in Appleton, WI involves performing or assisting with various functions of aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of key aircraft components to ensure proper operation. The technician will work under close supervision and is expected to perform basic aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair duties. The role requires a strong willingness to learn and the ability to work within a team environment to troubleshoot aircraft systems using company operating procedures and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) or FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Knowledge of and proper usage methods for most hand tools and cordless power tools.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working at Gulfstream in the DOD SkillBridge Program in Appleton, WI is highly desired.
  • Completion of at least 90 days as a DOD SkillBridge RS Aircraft Tech in Appleton, WI is highly desired.
  • Testing and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic related items is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned maintenance and servicing of aircraft mechanical systems.
  • Repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot mechanical and functional components of the aircraft including airframes, engine components, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems.
  • Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
  • Properly complete work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment.
  • Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment.
  • Operate and oversee use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components.
  • Coordinate with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed.
  • Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean.
  • Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate movement of aircraft, as required.
  • Maintain working knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
