About The Position

The Licensed Respiratory Care Professional is responsible for providing basic and advanced respiratory care services for all patient populations throughout the organization. Provides patient care by administering respiratory care treatments, emergency and critical care airway and ventilation management, diagnostic testing and patient education. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure holistic patient care delivery and achievement of desired outcomes. Integrates experience and critical thinking skills to ensure safe medication and treatment delivery. Accurately documents all required and/or pertinent data on the patient’s EMR/Chart. Keeps Cardiopulmonary Director well informed of pertinent information relating to work issues and changes within the work environment that could impact services. Accurately maintains and updates required treatment records and log books. Participates in quality control, quality improvement, and competency requirements as required Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current Ohio Licensed Respiratory Care Professional
  • Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care
  • Hospital experience preferred
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NRP
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, Policies and Procedures.
  • Ability to reason and make critical decisions
  • Mentally alert and detail oriented, capable of dealing with a diversity of tasks and interruptions.
  • Self directing
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and perform daily tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to remain calm and functional in an emergency or confrontation.
  • Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
