About The Position

The position is within the Respiratory Care Pediatrics department at Studer Family Children's Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart, located in Pensacola, Florida. This is a full-time role with night shifts from 7pm to 7am, working 12-hour shifts. The role involves providing evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, developing care plans, and educating patients and families about health conditions and available support.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous pediatric experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
• Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.
• Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
• Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.
